If Greenvelope's guest-count tiers are the problem, the simplest alternative is a platform that charges one price no matter how many people you invite. Koroty does that, with one payment per invitation and unlimited guests. Joy is free for its core website and RSVP. Paperless Post and Evite are the other big names, but both also charge more as your guest list grows.
Greenvelope is a well-made service, and for many weddings it's a fine choice. This guide is for couples who've priced it out and found that a large family list pushes them into the top tier, or beyond it. All prices come from each platform's own pricing page, checked in October 2026.
How does Greenvelope pricing work? #
Greenvelope prices a single mailing by the size of your guest list. In July 2026 its pricing page listed:
| Guests | Single mailing |
|---|---|
| Up to 20 | $19 |
| Up to 60 | $59 |
| Up to 100 | $99 |
| Up to 250 | $249 |
| More than 250 | Priced with its calculator |
That works out to roughly a dollar per guest at full capacity. Every tier includes the same features: an animated envelope, delivery by email or text with 500 texts included, RSVP tracking, survey questions, automatic reminders for guests who haven't replied, and no ads for guests. You can also send to up to 10 people for free before paying. For planners who send often, yearly memberships run from $125 to $565.
The model is clear and fair. It just gets expensive when the list is long, and many families, especially in cultures where the whole extended family is invited, easily pass 250.
What makes a good Greenvelope alternative? #
Before comparing names, decide which part of Greenvelope you want to keep:
- The price model: do you want a flat price, a free tier, or are tiers fine at a lower cost?
- Delivery: does the platform need to email and text guests for you, or will you share links yourself?
- The guest experience: an envelope that opens, no ads, and replies in a tap.
- RSVP tools: survey questions, reminders and per-guest plus-one limits.
Which alternatives charge one price for any guest count? #
| Platform | Price model | 300 guests costs | Sends for you? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Greenvelope | Tiers by guest count | Above the $249 tier; calculator quote | Yes, email or text |
| Koroty | One payment per invitation | $29 in the US and Europe | No, you send each personal link |
| Joy | Free core service, paid upgrades | Free for website and RSVP | Through Joy's site and app |
| Evite | Free with ads, or paid packages | $99.99 (up to 750 guests) | Yes, email or text |
| Paperless Post | Per guest, in coins | Depends on the design; per-guest coins | Yes, email or phone number |
Koroty #
Koroty is the platform I build, so read this with that in mind. It charges one payment per invitation, with no subscription and unlimited guests and replies. In the US and Europe the payment is $29, and your country's price is on the pricing page. Designing and previewing are free with no account, and when you publish you get a preview link that works for 48 hours with every feature, marked "preview only", so you can test it with family first.

This is the reply section of Wisteria Villa, the design where two embroidered doors swing open onto a villa with a fountain.
Like Greenvelope, the invitation opens with an animation: envelopes with wax seals, doors that swing open, or a mashrabiya that lifts away, depending on the design. Each guest gets their own link, and their name appears on the envelope. Guests reply with a tap, choose how many people are coming within the limit you set, and answer any questions you add.
The main difference: Koroty doesn't currently send emails or texts to guests. From the guest list you press "Send" next to a name, WhatsApp opens with a ready message containing that guest's link, and "Send to next" moves you to the next person. You can also copy each link into any other app.
Joy #
Joy's core service is free, including a wedding website, online RSVP, a planning app and unlimited guests. Upgrades such as premium designs, a custom domain and text messaging cost extra.
Good fit if you want a free website for travel and hotel details as well as RSVPs.
Evite #
Evite's top premium package, $99.99, covers up to 750 guests, which can be cheaper than Greenvelope for a big list. Free designs cost nothing to send, but they carry ads unless you pay to remove them, and many designs are aimed at parties rather than weddings.
Good fit if cost matters most and you find a design you like.
Paperless Post #
Paperless Post is the other premium name, with designer collaborations and email delivery. It charges per guest in coins, so it doesn't solve a long-list problem. Its yearly Pro plan starts at $250 for 250 guests.
Good fit if a specific Paperless Post design is the one you want.

What will you miss if you leave Greenvelope? #
A flat-price platform saves money, but be clear about the trade-offs:
- Automatic reminders. Greenvelope reminds non-responders on its own. On Koroty, for now, you see who hasn't replied and send them a reminder yourself.
- Email and text delivery. If many of your guests prefer email, sending each link yourself takes more effort.
- Delivery tracking by email. Greenvelope reports opens through its own sending. On Koroty your dashboard shows which guests have received their link and who has replied, so you know who to follow up with.
- Address validation and printed extras. These are tied to Greenvelope's mailing system.
If your family mostly talks on WhatsApp, the first two matter less, because a message from you in a chat they already use is hard to miss.
How do you switch without confusing guests? #
- Decide on one RSVP place. Don't collect replies on two platforms for the same event.
- Prepare your list. One row per invitation with the name you'd say out loud, a phone number and the number of seats.
- Import it. On Koroty you can upload Excel or CSV, paste a list of names, or add guests one by one, then sort them into groups.
- Set plus-one limits first. Each guest can only reply for the number of people you allow.
- Send in batches. Start with close family, then work through the list with "Send to next".
For timing, see when to send wedding invitations, and for reading the replies, how to know your guest count accurately.
Design yours free with your real names and see if it feels right before you switch.
Frequently asked questions #
Is Greenvelope worth the money? #
For a guest list under 100, its tiers are reasonable and you get delivery and reminders handled for you. The value drops as the list grows, because you move into higher tiers while a flat-price platform stays the same.
What is cheaper than Greenvelope for a big wedding? #
At 250 guests or more, Koroty's single payment, Evite's $99.99 package and Joy's free core service are all cheaper on published pricing. Check what each includes, because delivery and reminders differ.
Does Koroty have an animated envelope like Greenvelope? #
Yes. Several Koroty designs open with an animation, such as an envelope with a wax seal, an envelope edged in lace, or doors that swing open. Guests tap once to open it.
Can I try an alternative before paying? #
Yes. Greenvelope lets you send to 10 people free. Koroty lets you design and preview free, then use a 48-hour preview link with every feature. Joy's core service is free.
The bottom line #
Greenvelope's pricing is honest, but it scales with your guest list. If your list is long and your family lives on WhatsApp, a one-time price for unlimited guests can save real money. Browse Koroty's designs, or read the Paperless Post alternatives guide if you're comparing the other big names too.
