Enter your budget and guest count, and the calculator splits it across venue, photography, attire and the rest, and shows the cost per guest. Change any share or amount to fit your priorities.

A starting split to adjust to your priorities: change a share or type an amount directly. The suggested shares are a starting point, not an average or a statistic.

How to use it

  1. Enter budget and guests

And choose your currency. The reserve comes off first (10% by default).

  2. Review the split

You instantly see each item’s amount and the cost per guest.

  3. Adjust to your priorities

Change any share or type an amount, then copy or print the summary.

How to set a wedding budget

  1. Agree on the number before any booking, with both families, and on who covers what.
  2. Let the guest count follow the budget: venue and catering are priced per head and are usually the biggest item.
  3. Set the reserve aside first, and don’t spend it early.
  4. Spend the rest on what matters to you, not on what others do.

Where to save

The guest count moves the total more than anything else: twenty fewer guests can save more than all the small compromises combined. Get written quotes from several suppliers for each big item, and watch for hidden fees in contracts. A digital invitation also saves printing and delivery, and you can edit it without reprinting.

FAQ

How big should the reserve be?

Keep at least a tenth of the budget, because surprises usually come in the last weeks. You can change it in the reserve field.

Are the suggested shares fixed?

No. They’re only a starting point, not an average or a statistic. If photography matters more to you than flowers, raise it and lower something else.

How is the cost per guest calculated?

The total budget divided by the number of guests. You also see each guest’s share of venue and catering, the figure that matters most when comparing venues.

Are my numbers saved?

They’re saved in your browser on your device only, so they’re there when you come back. Nothing is sent anywhere.
